Monetra Pirkanmaa Oy is a municipally-owned company whose principal activity is to offer financial and personnel services for its owner-customers. The company operates in the Pirkanmaa region in Finland and employes more than 250 people. Mr Valtteri Palmu says that another company used Koho in the Monetra group, and through them got acquainted with the platform and realised it has all the functionalities they need. The choice was therefore easy, and Koho was deployed in late 2019.
Koho is very versatile
“Koho is a very versatile tool”, Says Mr Palmu. It immediately solved Monetra Pirkanmaa’s billing and hourly tracking. Previously, the did not have a customer- and service-specific hourly tracking to this extent and billing data was collected in Excel and several other systems.
-At our company we use Koho for three main purposes, Mr Palmu lists:
Invoicing
-We enter separately billed work according to hourly entries to Koho. Koho records the shift on a customer-by-customer basis, and the billable hourly work moves automatically to the invoice. We also use Koho for running xx data to the invoice. This tool allows us to export system reports with Excel directly to Koho and into invoicing.”
-Fixed monthly billed services are also easily manageable in Koho. Settings have comprehensive options to choose from for implementing monthly billing as agreed. After that, the invoices will automatically accumulate at the right time.”
Work time tracking
-We follow our own work input on a customer-specific, service-specific and project-specific basis. We can separate individual services and projects that differ from a normal service into their own entities.
Reporting
-Koho enables convenient interfaces to reporting tools, and also Koho itself has good reports available, which we have in heavy use. Reports can also be printed out easily.
Focus on the the right things with Koho
The main benefit of Koho for Monetra Pirkanmaa is that it focuses on the right things.
”Thanks to the reports, we can quickly grasp the problem areas and redirect our resources.”
– Koho’s reporting enables customer-specific budget tracking. The billing process is now manageable and reliable. The data is collected in one system, enabling the performance data reporting both internally and to customers as the invoicing base. We have also expanded reporting to Power Bi with an easy interface, Mr Palmu adds.
– In hindsight, it would have helped define our company’s needs right from the start during the deployment phase. The entire operation becomes more sensible, and understanding, especially the platform’s opportunities and how it could be utilised would be good to know right from the start. I have been recommending and introducing the platform in-house to our other regional companies.
